It covers line item numbers, national stock numbers, nomenclatures, type classification, data elements, and maintenance transactions. It requires monthly updates and establishes processing rules for additions, deletions, and changes.
Applies to: SB 700 20 also identifies items assigned reportable item control code (RICC) 2, A, B, C, G, or Z and is the guide for all units, organizations, and installations responsible for furnishing reports, as prescribed by AR 710 3.
SB 700 20 is updated during the open period. A current SB 700 is released monthly on the first of the month. (paragraph 3)
LIN data changes take effect the first day of each month. (paragraph 3)
There must be an active item data segment in the AEMM for any national item identification number (NIIN) being added to SB 700 20; otherwise, the transaction will be rejected. (paragraph 6)
An NSN can be listed in SB 700 20 under only one LIN. (paragraph 6)
Newly assigned LINs are not authorized for official use until the effective date of SB 700 20. (paragraph 8)
