It requires dental evaluations to include specified health and disease risk assessments and dental treatment plans to include measures that promote oral health and prevent dental disease and injury.
Class 1. These Soldiers have a current dental examination and do not require dental treatment or reevaluation for disease or restoration of oral structure or function. (paragraph 2-3)
Dental readiness classification (DRC) 2 Soldiers are worldwide deployable. (paragraph 2)
Initial, periodic (annual), and comprehensive oral evaluations of Soldiers will include hypertension screening as well as caries, tobacco, periodontal, and oral cancer risk assessments. (paragraph 3-2)
