It identifies the Regular Army aviation WO1 promotion exception, the CW2 ineligibility condition for initial-entry rotary-wing students, and the ADOR reset events. It assigns the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command responsibility for resetting the ADOR of all aviation warrant officers and states when the directive is rescinded.

An aviation warrant officer in initial-entry, rotary-wing student status without an aviation military occupational specialty will not be eligible for automatic promotion to CW2. (paragraph 4)
The ADOR of an aviation warrant officer will be reset to the latter in time of two events: date of graduation from the Warrant Officer Basic Course or date of award of an aviation military occupational specialty. (paragraph 4)
The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command is responsible for resetting the ADOR of all aviation warrant officers. (paragraph 4)
