AR 73-1 addresses developmental and operational testing, system evaluation, software testing, test scheduling, reporting, and funding. It requires approved plans and establishes conditions for waiving approved testing, delaying testing, or supporting accelerated acquisition.
Applies to: It applies to all systems developed, evolved, acquired, and managed under the auspices of AR 70series and DoDI 5000.02.
Testing specified in the approved TEMP must be conducted unless a written request for waiver is submitted to, and approved by, the TEMP approval authority. (paragraph 5-1)
The PM will ensure that the total system is tested during the PVT. (paragraph 3-14)
All commercial items and NDI programs must establish a T&E WIPT and have an approved TEMP that will adhere to the policies and procedures for new acquisition T&E programs. (paragraph 3-6)
