AR 710-2 covers supply chain integration, requisition reconciliation and validation, inventory accountability, stockage determination, materiel returns, allowances, prepositioned stocks, and shop and bench stocks. It requires policies and controls for managing, safeguarding, reconciling, and accounting for supply materiel.

Regular Army units will validate open requisitions on a monthly basis. (paragraph 5-1)
The ARNG and Army Reserve will validate open requisitions on a quarterly basis. (paragraph 5-1)
Physical inventory will include documentation of the storage location, quantity, materiel number, nomenclature, and current condition of each secondary item (retail level) to the designated system of record, and then from the warehouse management system to the financial statements. (paragraph 6-2)
CNGB, CAR, and Commanders of ACOMs, ASCCs, DRUs, and the USAR and ARNG will plan and complete100 percent accountability inventories annually. (paragraph 6-2)
Commanders of BCT (Armored BCT, Infantry BCT and SBCT) SSAs, combat aviation brigade SSAs, DSB SSAs and the Air Defense Artillery Patriot SSAs will establish and use the CASL. (paragraph 7-3)
