It defines five-digit category codes, assigns responsibilities for establishing and maintaining them, and addresses their use in real property systems. It also requires category codes for construction, acquisitions, disposals, facility conversions, and real property records.
A real property CATCD is an Army-developed five-digit number used to classify a specific category of real property assets (RPAs) and identify the functional nature of the RPA. (paragraph 1-8)
The five-digit CATCDs will be used in all systems and programs classifying items of real property. (paragraph 2-1)
Commanders and Civilian Managers of Garrisons, Army National Guard Installations, and Regional Readiness Commands will a. Ensure correct CATCDs are reported on real property records. (paragraph 1-7)
Report facilities for which CATCDs cannot be determined through Senior Commands to DCS, G 4 for proper CATCD assignment. (paragraph 1-7)
