AR 350-1 addresses institutional training, civilian development, unit training, training support, modernization, mandatory training, parachuting, and airborne transportability. It establishes requirements for training proficiency, readiness certification, training management, and training support systems.
Unit commanders are responsible for the training proficiency of their unit, and when required, for certifying training readiness by unit and echelon. (paragraph 1-9)
Training requirements include individual/crew-served/platform weapon qualification, live-fire task proficiency, mission essential task proficiency, and an External Evaluation (EXEVAL). (paragraph 1-9)
Provide Army school-trained Soldiers, Army Civilians, and leaders who possess sound fundamentals of their military or civilian specialty. (paragraph 1-8)
Provide a TSS and Army training management system needed by the unit to plan, execute, and evaluate training and mission rehearsals and to assess operations and capture lessons learned. (paragraph 1-8)
