It defines HQ Space Delta 7’s organization and responsibilities, including intelligence operations, training, equipment, threat environments, and command relationships. Compliance with the publication is mandatory, and it may not be supplemented or further implemented or extended.
Applies to: This MD applies to HQ Space Delta 7 and subordinate units and personnel.
HQ Space Delta 7 will generate, present, and sustain assigned/attached forces for the purpose of conducting space intelligence operations in collaboration with HQ SpOC and/or other stakeholders. (paragraph 1)
HQ Space Delta 7 is organized/designed to operate up to and including Threat Level 5. (paragraph 1)
Delta 7 CTD trains (through Initial Orientation, Initial Qualification, Mission Qualification, and Advanced Specialty Training) the world’s premier Space intelligence professionals in the art and science of warfare through mastery of threat knowledge, adversary capability and warfighting technique, existing and innovative warfighting techniques, and friendly (U.S., Allied, and Commercial) system knowledge. Commander, Space Operations Command (SpOC/CC), delegates command directly to the Space Delta 7 Commander (Space Delta 7/CC), who further delegates to Squadron Commanders and Detachment Commanders. (paragraph 3)
Manage force readiness programs, including establishing and managing combat rotations, training, evaluation, certification, and scheduling. (paragraph 4)
