SPOCMD602 governs the mission, organization, command, and responsibilities of USSF HQ Space Delta 6 and its cyberspace squadrons.

It defines defensive cyberspace operations for space, cyberspace squadron organization, command relationships, and control of assigned forces. It requires monitoring, protection, detection, response, reporting, analysis, and coordination for assigned space mission systems.

Cyberspace Squadrons (CYS) conduct defensive cyberspace operations for space (DCO-S) to secure and defend supported Space Delta/s (DEL) mission system/s (MS) relevant cyber terrain to assure freedom of maneuver in and access to cyberspace for all friendly forces operating within their assigned battlespace. (paragraph 1)
Space DEL 6/CC retains Operational Control (OPCON) of CYS forces aligned to a supported Space DEL CC, but may delegate CYS OPCON to the supported Space DEL CC. (paragraph 2)
The supported Space DEL CC has Tactical Control (TACON) of aligned CYS forces when said forces are providing DCO-S mission support. (paragraph 2)
Provide continuous monitoring and response capabilities for persistent defense of their assigned space enterprise MS(s) enabling mission assurance. (paragraph 3)
Respond to adversary activity within assigned space mission area(s) and MRT-C and assist with mitigation, recovery and/or restoration operations. (paragraph 3)
