Applies to: This SPFMD defines the mission, organization, and responsibilities of the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Delta 3 (DEL 3) Electromagnetic Warfare Squadrons (EWS).
The mission of DEL 3 is to generate, present, and sustain combat-ready Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) professionals to integrate, synchronize, and execute fires for U.S., Allied, and Coalition forces. (paragraph 1)
EW includes both offensive and defensive operations to ensure freedom of action in space and, when directed, defeat efforts to interfere with or attack U.S. or allied space systems. (paragraph 1)
The DEL 3 subordinate squadrons that provide EW are the 4th, 5th, and 16th EWS. (paragraph 1)
The Counter Communications System (CCS) is a transportable electromagnetic warfare system that reversibly denies adversary satellite communications, delivering fires in support of decisive action to achieve JFC objectives. (paragraph 1)
4 EWS is organized and designed to operate in all threat levels defined in Joint Publication (JP) 3-10 the Joint Security Operations in Theater: Threat Level 1, Threat Level 2, and Threat Level 3. (paragraph 1)
