It establishes policy for presenting space capabilities and providing organized, trained, and equipped forces to combatant commands. It assigns responsibilities for force generation, sourcing, deployment planning, readiness data, and related actions.

The USSF provides organized, trained, and equipped forces in accordance with 10 USC 9081, The United States Space Force, 10 USC 9013, Secretary of the Air Force, to the combatant commands, and 10 USC 162, Combatant Commands: assigned forces; chain of command. (paragraph 2)
The USSF implements SPAFORGEN to train, generate, and present combat forces to the combatant commands while preserving strategic readiness. (paragraph 2)
Initiates reserve component activation requests for units performing space missions in support of approved operations. (paragraph 3)
Ensures forces are trained and equipped in accordance with SPAFORGEN to support combatant commander operations. (paragraph 3)
