The publication addresses service dress uniforms, name tags, maternity uniforms, outer garments, headgear, informal uniforms, and civilian dress coat insignia. It establishes wear dates, authorizes or prohibits specific items, and sets placement and design requirements.

Failure to obey provisions within this publication may constitute a violation of Article 92(1), Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).
Effective 15 January 2026, all personnel transferring into the United States Space Force (USSF) from other military services are required to purchase the USSF service dress uniform upon arrival at their new duty location.
A mandatory wear date for the USSF service dress uniform will be established once the uniform is widely available to all Guardians and full sustainment levels are achieved.
Call signs or nicknames are not authorized on the name tag.
Guardians are authorized to wear the OCP boonie hat (also referred to as campaign or floppy hat) while in garrison, at the discretion of the Delta or equivalent commander.
