It identifies the 30th Space Wing’s command relationships and assigns duties for range operations, mission assurance, base support, and deployable forces. Compliance is mandatory, and the publication may not be supplemented or further implemented or extended.
Applies to: Upon mobilization, this mission directive also applies to AFSPC-gained Air National Guard (ANG) units and members under United States Code Title 10 status.
Provides indispensable launch, landing, and range capabilities to the nation. (paragraph 1)
Reports to and operates under the policy and guidance of the AFSPC/CC as Joint Force Space Component Commander (JFSCC). (paragraph 2)
Commands the forces of the 30 SW, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Pillar Point Air Force Station, and all geographically separated locations, activities, and facilities (e.g., Point Conception, Pt. Magu, etc.) associated with 30 SW, VAFB, or the Western Range. (paragraph 2)
Executes safe, effective and responsive range operations/support to assure access to and from space for National Security Space, civil, and commercial users. (paragraph 3)
Partners with launch and satellite systems directorates to conduct mission assurance and support for National Security Space missions, including but not limited to EELV, Rocket System Launch, and Operationally Responsive Space programs and the USAF Rapid Capabilities Office. (paragraph 3)
