NAVMC 3500.6C contains collective and individual training requirements, event standards, and MOS-specific training events. It requires training plans, objective readiness assessments, and records of training achievements and gaps.
Applies to: This Manual is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
Per reference (b), commanders will conduct an internal assessment of the unit’s ability to execute its mission and develop long-, mid-, and shortrange training plans to sustain proficiency and correct deficiencies. (paragraph 3)
Training plans will incorporate these events to standardize training and provide objective assessment of progress toward attaining combat readiness. (paragraph 3)
Commanders will keep records at the unit and individual levels to record training achievements, identify training gaps and document objective assessments of readiness associated with training Marines. (paragraph 3)
Formal school and training detachment commanders will use references (a) and (e) to ensure programs of instruction meet skill training requirements established in this manual and provides career-progression training in the events designated for initial training in the formal school environment. (paragraph 3)
