The goal of Marine Aviation is to attain and maintain combat readiness to support Expeditionary Maneuver Warfare while conserving resources. (paragraph 6)

Support the MAGTF Commander by providing air-to-air refueling, assault support, and close air support, day or night under all weather conditions during expeditionary, joint, or combined operations. (paragraph 6)
Core METs are those tasks that a unit is expected to execute at all times, and are the only METs used in reporting the Training Level (T-Level) for the Core Mission (C-Level) in the Defense Readiness Reporting System – Marine Corps (DRRS-MC). (paragraph 6)
