NAVMC 2904 covers HIV medical and epidemiological evidence, testing policy, counseling for active duty Marines and Reservists, and Marine Corps HIV education. It includes counseling checklists, notification forms, medical evaluation requirements, and Reserve transfer and discharge options.
Applies to: This Manual is applicable to the Marine Corps Reserve.
The test cannot determine when or how the person became infected, and the test cannot determine if the HIV is still in the person’s body. (paragraph 5)
The test does not mean that you have AIDS, and does not automatically mean that you will develop AIDS in the future. (paragraph 5)
The test does mean that at some time you were infected with the HIV. (paragraph 5)
Provide the member with AIDS information pamphlet, AIDS Hotline telephone numbers, and a copy of medical evaluation message. (paragraph 5)
Ensure health and dental record entries are made. (paragraph 5)
