The commander must plan a deployment organization to ensure that forces arrive in the objective area in a logical sequence, at the right time, with the correct equipment, and with enough sustainment capability to support the CONOPS. (paragraph 3)
Deployment is the movement of forces to an AOR. (paragraph 3)
Typically, entry is accomplished by sea or air, although forces can be introduced by ground movement from an expeditionary base in an adjacent country. (paragraph 3)
Enabling actions can include seizing a port, airfield, or other lodgment for the introduction of follow-on forces and establishing necessary logistic and support capabilities. (paragraph 3)
