MCTP 3-30B covers information requirements, operational information architecture, IKM annexes, collaborative services, training, and preparation for operations. It requires staff sections to identify, validate, prioritize, and support information requirements with appropriate systems, applications, processes, and qualified personnel.
Applies to: This order provides planning guidance and direction to all staff sections with regard to execution of the IKMP.
Per the references, the unit will develop and execute an IKMP that captures how the command manages and controls information. (paragraph 1)
Staff sections shall ensure that they follow the steps detailed herein to determine their mission-essential tasks (METs) in support of Marine Corps tasks. (paragraph 4)
Once all information requirements have been identified, staff sections validate and prioritize current processes in descending order as critical, essential or enhancing as it relates to a MET’s accomplishment. (paragraph 4)
To facilitate the collation, coordination, dissemination, and retrieval of information requirement inputs and outputs, identify the system(s), application(s) and collaborative service(s) used for each information requirement. (paragraph 4)
Based on action (4), proper use of systems and applications across functional staffs must include a sufficient number of qualified operators. (paragraph 4)
