It establishes roles for Marine Corps participation in developing, revising, coordinating, and reviewing joint publications and NATO Allied joint doctrine. It also addresses representation, voting membership, points of contact, and NATO standardization activities.
To establish procedures and assign responsibilities for Marine Corps’ participation in the development of joint doctrine and NATO Allied joint doctrine. (paragraph 3)
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) is responsible for developing joint doctrine for the joint employment of the Armed Forces of the United States (see reference (b)). (paragraph 4)
Joint doctrine is written to reflect existing capabilities and roles, missions, and functions as delineated in reference (m) and reference (a). (paragraph 4)
The Marine Corps, within the Department of the Navy (DON), shall develop concepts; doctrine; tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP); and organize, train, equip, and provide forces, normally employed as combined arms Marine air-ground task forces, to serve as an expeditionary force-in-readiness. (paragraph 4)
DC PP&O will supervise the Marine Corps’ participation in the development of joint doctrine and NATO Allied joint doctrine. (paragraph 4)
