How far in advance must an official foreign visit request be submitted?

FVRs are required to be submitted no less than 21 working days prior to the first day of the proposed visit. (paragraph 6)

Who can approve foreign visitor access to CMI or CUI?

Only an FDO or other official delegated authority by an appointment letter from a commander or director holding a Delegation of Disclosure Authority Letter (DDL) may approve access to CMI and CUI by visiting foreign nationals. (paragraph 6)

Does a visit authorization allow documents to be given to a foreign visitor?

A visit authorization does not include authority to physically or electronically provide documents to a visitor, unless that authority has been explicitly granted within the disclosure authorization by an FDO. (paragraph 6)

How much notice is required for a recurring foreign visit?

Apart from emergency visits, the recurring foreign office or visitor(s) shall give the host activity at least a 72 hour notice of the actual date and time of the intended visit following approval of the recurring FVR. (paragraph 4)

What changes can an embassy make to a foreign visit request?

The requesting embassy may amend the visit request with respect to the date(s) of the visit and/or the names of the visitors only. (paragraph 6)
