It establishes procedures for band support requests, ceremonial music, national anthems, training, facilities, instrument maintenance, digital archives, and website management. It requires approval, planning, maintenance, training, and operational standards for Fleet Marine Bands.
Applies to: To establish policy governing Fleet Marine Bands and FMBP personnel, and to inform Commanders (COM) / Commanding Generals (CG) and Command Staff on the mission, organization, concept of employment, and policies pertaining to Fleet Marine Bands and the FMBP.
A DD Form 2536, Request for Armed Forces Participation in Public Events (Non-Aviation), is used for requesting band support for an event. (paragraph 4)
A DD Form 2536 must be received at least 30 days before the event, per reference (g). (paragraph 4)
Bands consider requests once the event is within 90 days of execution. (paragraph 5)
The Enlisted Bandleader / SNCOIC is responsible to the Band Officer for developing a comprehensive training program for the Band. (paragraph 5)
At least two certified users must be maintained at each band. (paragraph 1)
