MCO 4733.1D covers calibration requirements, combat-ready storage infantry gages, infantry weapons gages, transfer standards, survey instruments, and METCAL quality programs. It addresses calibration facilities, external support, accreditation criteria, audits, equipment acquisition, and calibration records.
The mission of the Marine Corps TMDE CAMP is to maintain the prescribed accuracy and reliability of measurement standards to ensure the satisfactory performance and safety of all Marine Corps ground TMDE. (paragraph 3)
TMDE will be calibrated to the extent necessary to perform the required measurements to fulfill operational requirements. (paragraph 4)
Calibrations will be accomplished in the most cost-effective manner that will satisfy operational requirements. (paragraph 4)
Schedule and conduct triennial external audits and 18 month on-site visits of all Marine Corps CFs and report all results to PMSMS. (paragraph 3)
Units that purchase unsupported TMDE not listed in reference (m) or published fielding documentation will assume all lifecycle support management responsibilities to include repair and/or calibration. (paragraph 4)
