MCO 4410.28 establishes criteria for marking and registering ground equipment and integrating UIIs into supply, maintenance, and property accountability systems. It covers IUID marking, registry registration, accountable property, receiving, and product quality deficiency data.
Applies to: This Order does not apply to Marine Corps aviation assets which will be addressed by forthcoming IUID instructions from the Navy staff.
All items for which the Government's unit acquisition cost is $5,000 or more. (paragraph 1)
Items for which the Government's unit acquisition cost is less than $5,000, when identified as DOD serially managed, mission essential or controlled inventory. (paragraph 2)
IurD Registry is the central repository for lurD information and serves as an acquisition gateway to identify: what the item is; how and when it was acquired; the initial unit cost of the item; current custody (government or contractor); and how it is marked.
The AIS that stores and maintains serialized data related to each UII, and provides updates to the DOD IUID Registry.
The process of accepting and initiating the property accountability process; its primary role is the validation of the item(s) with its accompanying support documentation, e.g., shipment notice, purchase order, documenting count, condition, damage, or other discrepancies.
