An Urgent UNS is used to initiate the UNP. (paragraph 3)
The supported COMMARFOR conducting or preparing to conduct the specific combat or contingency operation certifies and submits the Urgent UNS to DC CD&I. (paragraph 4)
Ensure submissions to DC CD&I include the personal endorsement of at least one General Officer. (paragraph 4)
Use of this feature will be mandatory, effective 1 October 2009. (paragraph 4)
To speed processing and enhance collaboration, an Urgent UNS will be submitted by unclassified methods whenever possible. (paragraph 5)
