MCO 3150.4A addresses diving duty special pay, diver billets, medical standards, proficiency and refresher training, and formal course seat management. It requires controls for authorized equipment, equipment maintenance, dive locker inspections, and reporting malfunctions and incidents.
Only Marine Corps units and activities with an authorized allowance of dive equipment on their (T/E) are authorized to possess and maintain dive equipment or to conduct dive operations. (paragraph 2)
At a minimum, two appropriately qualified divers are required to predive and post-dive life support diving equipment- one to work, and one to inspect. (paragraph 5)
Alteration of approved diving equipment is strictly prohibited without prior written approval by applicable Diving Equipment Technical PM. (paragraph 6)
“Frequent and regular dives” are defined for Marine Corps personnel as four (4) dives per calendar year. (paragraph 4)
For divers whose currency requirements have lapsed for more than one year, requalification training is required in accordance with reference (w). (paragraph 3)
