MCO 1070.1 covers OMPF structure and documents, audits and corrections, access, updating and scanning, and official photographs. It requires OMPF documents to identify the Marine by full name and DoD ID and sets requirements for photograph submission.
Applies to: This Order is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
The Marine Corps OMPF is the military human resource record and documents the career of each officer and enlisted Marine from time of entry into service until final separation. (paragraph 2)
Every Marine has an OMPF maintained by HQMC. (paragraph 1)
Each document forwarded to HQMC (MMRP-20) for inclusion in the OMPF must contain the full name and Department of Defense Identification Number (DoD ID) of the Marine. (paragraph 1)
Marines are responsible to ensure their OMPFs are current and contain documents authorized for the OMPF that adequately describe their Marine Corps service. (paragraph 3)
Individual Marines are not authorized to submit their own photographs. (paragraph 8)
