All Coast Guard unit commanders, commanding officers, officers-in-charge, deputy/assistant commandants, and office chiefs of headquarters staff elements must comply with the provisions of this Instruction. (paragraph 2)
The EMDP2 is a competitive program through USUHS for enlisted personnel who desire to attend medical school and become military physicians.
A completed baccalaureate degree (any major or academic discipline) with a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 from an accredited U.S. college or university. (paragraph 1)
Active Duty in the pay grades of E-4 to E-7. Commissioned Officers, Chief Warrant Officers, and other enlisted pay grades are not eligible. (paragraph 4)
Completion of the EMDP2 does not guarantee acceptance into the USUHS SOM program. (paragraph 1)
