As the responsible authority for data governance, data management, data analytics, and AI in the USCG, the CDAO is delegated by the Commandant, Reference (f), to execute these responsibilities. (paragraph 8)
Classify USCG data as an enterprise strategic asset with corresponding investments in the people, processes, and tools to support the governance, management, and analytical use of data.
Establish Domain Data Teams in accordance with Appendix E to execute modern enterprise data management at scale through federated data governance and stewardship, providing domain data as a product for enterprise use.
Establish Operational Analytics Teams in accordance with Appendix F to generate insight and automation opportunities from enterprise data assets to enable data-informed decision-making across business units and operational commands.
