All Coast Guard unit commanders, commanding officers, officers-in-charge, deputy/assistant commandants, and chiefs of headquarter directorates must comply with the policies contained. (paragraph 2)
Coast Guard operations and activities must adhere to all applicable environmental laws, regulations, executive orders (EOs), and directives. (paragraph 1)
Real and personal property must be managed following environmental laws, regulations, EOs, and directives. (paragraph 2)
Environmental compliance responsibilities must be carried out by individuals who are adequately trained and possess the necessary knowledge to fulfill their duties. (paragraph 3)
Best management practices to minimize environmental risks and reduce the Coast Guard’s environmental footprint must be considered and adopted where feasible. If the recommended best management practice is not adopted, the consideration and decision must be documented. (paragraph 4)
