It covers internal and external recognitions, Auxiliary and department-level awards, gifts, nomination packets, selection panels, and award presentations. It requires Sponsors to maintain programs and update eligibility requirements, processes, and procedures when needed.
Applies to: All Coast Guard unit commanders, commanding officers, officers-in-charge, deputy/assistant commandants, and chiefs of headquarter directorates must comply with the policies contained.
All Recognition Programs must be reviewed and approved by the Commandant (CCG). (paragraph 1-2)
Prior to accepting any award or gift from a nonfederal source, Coast Guard members should consult with their servicing legal office to ensure compliance with Reference (c) regarding the acceptance of awards or gifts, as related to Recognition Programs. (paragraph 1-7)
There are two types of Recognition Programs, internal and external. Both are coordinated by a Coast Guard Sponsor. (paragraph 1-3)
Auxiliary medals and awards will be worn as prescribed in Reference (d). (paragraph 1-5)
Any individual (military or civilian) presently engaged in the practice of Coast Guard engineering as a manager or technical employee and who is an engineer by education or experience. (paragraph 2)
