Applies to: This Instruction provides policy and training requirements for Coast Guard Boat Forces operations and is intended for use by all personnel engaged in or supervising boat operations and training.
All Coast Guard unit and training center commanders, commanding officers, officers-in-charge, deputy/assistant commandants, and chiefs of headquarter directorates must comply with the policies contained. (paragraph 2)

Units must have, at a minimum, two boats, one of which must be: RB-M, RB-S, SPC-LE, SPC-SW, or MLB. (paragraph 1-4)
