It authorizes Yokota Air Base personnel to use approved dye-marking cartridges and Close Combat Mission Capability Kits for force-on-force and Shoot, Move, and Communicate training. The instruction requires specified training-area documents, personnel training, safety equipment, inspections, weapon clearing, and post-exercise cleanup.
Applies to: This instruction applies to all personal assigned to YAB who utilize dye marking cartridges for training and exercises.
Authorize Yokota Air Base (YAB) personnel to use AF Non-Nuclear Munitions Safety Board (NNMSB)-approved small arms dye-marking cartridges and Close Combat Mission Capability Kits (CCMCK) to conduct force-on-force and Shoot, Move, and Communicate (SMC) training.
Range Safety Officer (RSO) and Training Support Official (TSO) will be trained IAW AFI 36-2646, Security Forces Training and Standardization Evaluation Program, AFI 36-2654, and TO 11W2-9-4-11.
Ensure range is secure and Range Guards are in place. (Role-players and support personnel put on masks until range is COLD.) Role-players weapons are not loaded yet. When satisfied that all personnel have been briefed and are wearing all required PPE and the training area is secure, RSO will call “RANGE HOT”. (paragraph 1-3)
Once all training is complete, account for all weapons, magazines, munitions, and equipment. Clear the training/exercise area of CCMCK munitions residue, brass, and trash before personnel leave the Safety Zone.
