The main purpose of DIFM/DOTM is to maintain 100 percent accountability from cradle to grave of all serviceable and unserviceable assets. (paragraph 1)
When a serviceable exchangeable part is ordered, a like item turn-in is required within 60 days of ordering. (paragraph 3)
After 60 days from date of issue, the JON is charged the additional Mark-Up Price (MUP) if a serviceable/unserviceable asset is not turned in. (paragraph 3)
The MUP will be reimbursed to the customer upon receipt of a reparable asset after 60 days to clear the DIFM detail. (paragraph 3)
The turn-in and issue request must contain the same document number before the DIFM detail record will clear systematically. (paragraph 3)
