It defines the wing’s mission, command relationships, delegated authorities, and withheld matters. It also requires mission support, health care support, community programs, cadet development, and readiness functions.
Applies to: This mission directive does not apply to the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) or the Air National Guard (ANG).
Reports directly to the Superintendent, USAF Academy. (paragraph 2)
The Commandant of Cadets retains the authority to dictate the cadet uniform and to determine times for reveille and retreat in the cadet area. (paragraph 2)
Provides base-level Mission Support functions for all DoD units and personnel assigned to the USAF Academy as well as dependents and retirees residing in the area. (paragraph 3)
Provides base-level Health Care Support for all DoD units and eligible personnel assigned to the USAF Academy installation, as well as other eligible active duty, dependents, and retirees residing in the area. (paragraph 3)
Provides trained and ready Airmen in support of Air and Space Expeditionary Forces. (paragraph 3)
