It covers CDDAR responsibilities, recovery operations, transient aircraft emergencies, equipment, and in-flight and ground emergency procedures. It requires coordinated responses, protection of evidence and classified components, and safe aircraft removal.
Applies to: The CDDAR program applies to all USAF host (i.e. 325 FW, Checker Flag), tenant/contract (i.e. 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group (53 WEG)) organizations and considers transient aircraft.
The manpower and equipment required to remove/recover a crashed/disabled aircraft will vary with each given situation. (paragraph 2)
Recovery operations will not proceed while an aircraft is being investigated by a safety/investigation board unless released/approved by the board president in accordance with DAFI 91-204, Safety Investigations and Reports. (paragraph 10-2)
The Incident Commander (IC) or safety board president has command responsibility for the execution of all crash removal/recovery operations. (paragraph 10-2)
Upon notification of an IFE/Ground Emergency, CDDAR initial response will be limited to the primary crash vehicle and tow vehicle with applicable tow bar. (paragraph 10-2)
There will be a minimum of three qualified personnel, one of which will be a fully qualified 7-level. (paragraph 10-2)
