It establishes roles for the Weather Flight, 25th Operational Weather Squadron, and TACC/XOW in supporting Travis Air Force Base operations. It requires weather briefings, mission weather products, weather warnings, and coordination during airfield or Weather Flight closures.
Applies to: It applies to units assigned to the 60th Air Mobility Wing (60 AMW) and units assigned, attached, or supported by Travis Air Force Base (AFB).
The 25th Operational Weather Squadron (25 OWS), the 618th Air Operations Center (Tanker Airlift Control Center) Weather Directorate, (618 AOC)/XOW), and the 60th Operations Support Squadron Weather Flight (60 OSS/OSW) are the official weather information agencies for Travis AFB, California.
The WF issues all Watches, Warnings and Advisories (WWA’s).
The WF creates Mission Weather Products (MWPs) that fuse theater scale products with local mission requirements to enable the direct inject of weather impacts into warfighter planning and/or execution as required.
The WF remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in concurrence with airfield operating hours. (paragraph 2)
The WF technician is responsible for contacting the 25 OWS, Air Traffic Control (ATC), Airfield Management, and respective command posts (CPs). (paragraph 2)
