It establishes training, certification, operating procedures, standards, testing, vehicle passes, and quality control for airfield operations. The instruction requires personnel to complete training and testing before receiving an AF Form 483 and restricts entry into the Controlled Movement Area without approval.
Base assigned personnel (i.e. military, DoD civilian or contractor) required to operate a vehicle on the airfield must be licensed or certified either to operate a GOV, GLV or POV and complete the airfield driver’s training course and pass all required tests prior to issuance of an AF Form 483, prior to operating the vehicle on the airfield. (paragraph 1)
Only AMO will administer written and practical tests, this authority will not be delegated outside the AM function. (paragraph 1)
Not be allowed to retest or drive on the airfield and/or within the Controlled Movement Area after a fourth failure. (paragraph 1)
All base personnel who will operate a vehicle on the airfield must take the Dvorine Pseudo-Isochromatic Plates Color Vision test prior to receiving authorization to drive on the airfield. (paragraph 1)
No vehicle or pedestrian may enter the CMA without specific approval from the controlling authority. (paragraph 13-222)
