Applies to: It applies to all personnel assigned to the 52d Fighter Wing (52 FW), including Munitions Support Squadrons (MUNSS) and Detachments, and provides guidance for 52 FW orientation flights.
Three weeks prior to the start of a new quarter, 52 OSS/OSOS will request Group Executive Officers (CCE) and the Wing Director of Staff (FW/DS) provide names for the upcoming 52 FW Orientation Flight Quarterly List, due 7 business days from the request.
52OSS/OSOS will track orientation flight execution and maintain a five year look back of all orientation flight participants to prevent repeat flights and prove equitable execution among participating units.
Multiple orientation flights for a single individual will require justification from the individual’s Group Commander/DS to the 52 FW Commander for approval.
Orientation flight candidates will complete all training outlined in AFI 11-401_USAFEAFAFRICASUP.
By close of business (COB) the Thursday prior to the week of the scheduled orientation flight 52 OSS/OSOS will notify orientation flight candidates, their supervisor, and all agencies supporting the orientation flight of training dates, times, and locations. (paragraph 5-2)
