SMCI63-105 addresses exceptions for national security systems, legacy systems and contracts, and AFSPC and SMC web sites. It requires applicable procurements to be certified for Section 508 compliance and sets requirements for certain exceptions.
AFSPC will develop, procure, maintain, and use EIT in accordance with Section 508. (paragraph 2)
"Undue burden" is defined as a significant difficulty or expense. (paragraph 1)
Program managers shall document in writing the basis for an undue burden decision, provide that documentation to the Procuring Contract Officer (PCO), and propose an alternative means of access. (paragraph 3)
New or modified AFSPC and SMC web sites shall be Section 508 compliant. (paragraph 5)
For all procurements, except those for which Section 508 does not apply (see paragraph 3.), Requiring Officials shall "certify" all procurements for Section 508 compliance by following the steps below.
