It covers requirements management, development planning and authorization, deficiency reporting, user evaluation, validation, version control, and ERIS interface control documentation. New software and upgrades or modifications to legacy launch safety software shall comply with its provisions.
Applies to: This instruction applies to the management of LSS developed by SLD 45/SEL that performs non-real time flight safety hazards analysis or risk management computations in support of ER missions.
All new software, and upgrades or modifications to legacy LSS, shall be compliant with this instruction’s provisions. (paragraph 2)
The request can be for a new requirement, a modification of an existing requirement or a request to delete an existing requirement. (paragraph 4)
The assessment must include an estimate of cost, schedule impacts and impacts to existing requirements and LSS. (paragraph 4)
New or modified LSS, which will cause an interface change with 1 ROPS-managed ERIS component, will require an ICD update.
The SLD 45/SEL-developed software tools and models can only be used to support an ER mission if the SSVB validated them and, if required, have been operationally accepted by 1 ROPS IAW 45SWI 10-605. (paragraph 6)
