Applies to: This publication applies to all civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air Force, the Air Force Reserve, the Air National Guard, the United States Space Force, all Department of the Air Force (DAF) civilian employees, and those with a contractual obligation to abide by the terms of DAF issuances.
Impoundment of transient aircraft will be determined by aircraft commander and communicated to home station organization. (paragraph 2)
The IA must be appointed by the SLD 45 Vice Commander, Installation Support (SLD 45/CV-IS) or designated representative. (paragraph 2)
If the IA decides to impound the equipment, the IA must appoint an IO with a minimum rank of MSgt or civilian equivalent. (paragraph 2)
The IO must limit operations and maintenance actions on impounded assets and control of removed parts until the cause is determined. (paragraph 2)
The SLD 45/CV-IS will be responsible for releasing the asset(s) from impoundment. (paragraph 2)
