Applies to: This QTP applies to Department of the Air Force personnel transporting HAZMAT in placarded quantities, per Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 172, Subpart F, Placarding, or materials listed as select agents or toxins (per Title 42, CFR, Part 73, Select Agents and Toxins).
The training standards outlined herein align with federal regulations and military requirements while incorporating best practices for adult learning and competency-based instruction.
Successful completion of this training program demonstrates operator proficiency and supports mission readiness by maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness across both services when handling these critical and potentially dangerous materials.
Upon successful completion of the test and certification, and verification of qualification on the applicable vehicle, members will coordinate with Ground Transportation to obtain an DAF Form 2293 with the HAZMAT endorsement.
All personnel required to transport explosives or HAZMAT on or off installation must review the materials contained within this QTP and the supporting references identified within.
Airmen will complete the CMVE HAZMAT test initially and biennially thereafter.
