The publication establishes procedures for aircraft metals technology, nondestructive inspection, aircraft structural maintenance, and corrosion control. It requires compliance with safety precautions, post-wash and documentation requirements, and specified command authorizations.
Applies to: It is applicable to all 8th Fighter Wing aircraft, transient aircraft and units deployed to Kunsan Air Base, Korea.
Commanders and supervisors will ensure that all personnel subject to operations covered by this instruction are thoroughly knowledgeable of the inherent dangers of the operation and the safety precautions necessary for safe and efficient accomplishment.
Ensure that all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with AFI 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance Program, and disposed of in accordance with Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS) Records Disposition Schedule (RDS).
Changes include updates to match parent instructions, post-wash and documentation requirements.
Authorizations for wing and squadron command tail, non-command tail and heritage paint configurations have been included.
