In the event of a serious injury or illness, any person can activate an emergency medical service request by calling 911 from any on-base phone or by calling (334) 953-9911 from a cellular phone. (paragraph 1)
No hospital or emergency room is available on Maxwell-Gunter AFB. (paragraph 1)
When contacted with a medical emergency, the 42 CES/CEF Flight Dispatcher will immediately dispatch a senior fire officer (SFO) and a first responder vehicle with at least two emergency medical technicians (Basic) to the scene. (paragraph 3)
Anytime the contracted ambulance service is off site from Maxwell-Gunter AFB, 42 CES/CEF will respond to medical emergencies to provide BLS until more advanced medical services arrive on scene. (paragraph 3)
Hazardous medical waste will be placed in red Bio Hazard bags or sharps containers and brought to the base clinic for disposal in approved areas. (paragraph 3)
