It establishes base-wide administrative release decisions, emergency notification procedures, mission-essential personnel requirements, and shift modifications. It also specifies how civilian absences are treated and documented when personnel are released or excused.
Applies to: This instruction applies to all organizations or tenants, as well as all branches of the Armed Forces located on Maxwell Air Force Base and Gunter Annex.
The 42d Air Base Wing Commander (42 ABW/CC) makes the final decision for base-wide administrative release of military and civilian personnel. (paragraph 1)
Personnel involved in critical functions or programs determined by proper authority to be mission essential may be required to remain on duty or report to duty if assigned to subsequent shifts. (paragraph 1)
Personnel who are expected to report for, and remain at work, even when others are excused are called mission-essential personnel. (paragraph 2)
The 42 ABW/CC decides whether to dismiss personnel because of severe weather conditions or other emergency conditions. (paragraph 2)
Personnel may be dismissed on a staggered basis to avoid traffic congestion. (paragraph 2)
