The publication addresses controlled area designation, monitors, entry and exit, escorted access, ceremonies and events, bomb threats, evacuation procedures, and training. It requires authorized badges, controlled access, visitor records, safety and security briefings, and coordination for events in the controlled area.
Applies to: This instruction applies to all active duty, reserve, and civilian personnel on Joint Base Charleston (JB CHS).
The installation commander is the sole authority to establish and designate controlled areas. (paragraph 2)
Entry into the controlled area must be limited only to those requiring entry to perform their official duties and those who have been granted specific authority. (paragraph 4)
A badge system using AF Form 1199D USAF Restricted Area Badge with Area 3 open will be used for entry into the Mission Generation Controlled Area. (paragraph 4)
Escort officials assume responsibility for the safe and secure conduct of their visitors and are required to maintain constant surveillance and control of their visitors at all times. (paragraph 4)
Requests should be sent at least 30 days prior to the event. (paragraph 4)
