It establishes notification responsibilities for deaths, hospitalizations, missing or DUSTWUN personnel, and related casualty reporting. It also requires specified information, coordination, documentation, and limits on releasing casualty information.
Applies to: It applies to all squadrons, Geographically Separated Units and tenant units assigned to Incirlik AB.
Any individual contacting the 39 ABW/CP to report the death of a retiree should be given the CAR's duty contact information and asked to contact the CAR. (paragraph 1)
Unit Commanders/First Sergeants (Host, GSU and Tenant) will notify the CAR immediately when they learn of the death or hospitalization of any assigned personnel or the death of a family member of assigned personnel. (paragraph 1)
The 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs (39 ABW/PA) will not release casualty information on deceased military personnel until 24 hours after notification of the final NOK, as advised by the CAR. (paragraph 1)
The 39th Air Base Wing Chaplain (39 ABW/HC) will provide a chaplain to accompany casualty notification teams within 1 hour of being tasked. (paragraph 1)
