The Deficiency Report (DR) is the sole Air Force (AF) action document for use in identifying, reporting, resolving, and tracking deficiencies on military systems. (paragraph 1)
Notification of forthcoming Category I DRs will be provided over the telephone to the DR contact point and engineering/test personnel at the SPO no later than 24 hours after discovery provided security requirements are not compromised. (paragraph 2)
All safety and safety-of-flight related DRs will be coordinated with the local Safety Office. (paragraph 2)
The official CMIS for Air Force test programs is the JDRS (refer to para 3.2 above). (paragraph 7)
A prime contractor’s CMIS should not be used as the formal system of record for DR tracking during government-conducted T&E. (paragraph 7)
