DYESSAFBI31-218 establishes procedures for vehicle registration, traffic supervision, driving records, traffic points, and privately owned vehicle impoundment. It requires compliance with installation driving, documentation, parking, speed, traffic control, and vehicle safety rules.
Applies to: Compliance with this supplement is mandatory and applies to all military and civilian Air Force (AF) personnel, members of the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard, and other individuals or organizations as required by binding agreement or obligation with the Department of the Air Force.
Register motor vehicles according to the state law the vehicle is registered in. (paragraph 5)
ATVs, off-road vehicles, go-carts and golf carts are prohibited on Dyess AFB roadways. Exceptions are permitted for roads/grounds use, landscaping purposes, official functions or for authorized uses. (paragraph 5)
Personnel must show valid credentials authorizing their access to the base. License plate or plates will be affixed as directed by the issuing state. Additionally, you must also have proof of state registration and proof of liability insurance or self-insurance, as prescribed by state law. (paragraph 5)
Abandoned vehicles are those vehicles left in the same place in excess of 30 consecutive days, or displaying expired registration or if the last registered owner has departed Dyess AFB. (paragraph 5)
The point system in Attachment 1 applies to all vehicle operators on DAFB. (paragraph 5)
