It establishes responsibilities and procedures for assisting the Next-of-Kin of deceased, missing, captured, seriously ill or injured, and incapacitated Air Force casualties. It requires protected information to be collected and maintained under the Privacy Act and related authorities.
Applies to: It applies to all organizations assigned or attached to Dover Air Force Base.
All reports of casualties or queries for assistance will be referred to the CAR. (paragraph 1)
The CAR will notify the 436th Force Support Squadron Commander (436 FSS/CC) who will then notify the 436th Mission Support Group Commander to request a Casualty Notification Team officer. (paragraph 1)
All calls referred to the CAR by the 436 AW/CP will include the name, grade or title, address, and telephone number of the caller.
The 436 AW/CP, if contacted by NOK, will not discuss details of an incident but will advise NOK that a representative from the Casualty Office will return their call.
Base Public Affairs Office (436 AW/PA) is the only base agency authorized to release information concerning casualties to other government agencies.
